Cape Town-based game studio [Free Lives](https://www.isakaba.com/free-lives/) released three games in September as the South African developer marked 15 years of making games.

The studio said the month saw the simultaneous release of [Shroom and Gloom](https://www.isakaba.com/shroom-and-gloom/), [Stick it to the Stickman](https://www.isakaba.com/stick-it-to-the-stickman/) and [Dressmaker](https://www.isakaba.com/dressmaker/), calling it a major feat of studio logistics.

Shroom and Gloom is a fungal-punk deck-builder co-developed and funded by Free Lives and Team Lazerbeam. Stick it to the Stickman follows six years of development, while Dressmaker was released under Free Lives' new Cozy Lives label.

**Three games**

Dressmaker has been the biggest success of the three, with Free Lives saying the game has made it into Steam's top 10 best sellers following its launch.

"To say we are delighted by the stratospheric response to Dressmaker is a massive understatement," the team wrote in a [post](https://www.linkedin.com/posts/we-dont-often-post-formal-statements-but-ugcPost-7511752069251248128-LXit/?utm%5Fsource=share&utm%5Fmedium=member%5Fandroid&rcm=ACoAAC6QoXoBEUxUgZ8QqAqbt3Sb8KhoIXzq%5F8c). "We couldn’t be prouder of the Cozy Lives team for trusting their vision and creating this now globally beloved, absurdly charming game that has made it into Steam’s Top 10 best sellers!"

The studio said it worked with several people and companies to learn more about self-publishing, including Future Friends, Landfall, Uwu Biz and Devolver Digital.

Free Lives also said it has no plans to stop making games despite the busy month. The studio is preparing for Playtopia, its indie games and immersive arts festival, which will take place in Cape Town from December 3 to 5.

The studio said Playtopia will be hosted aboard its newly acquired “Free Lives Superyacht” as part of the festival's events.
