# How many game studios are there in Nigeria?

Nigeria is home to more than 40 game studios and developers, according to IsaKaba's tracking of the country's games industry.

There is no single, official database that captures every studio in the country. Small teams, solo developers, and newly founded studios are often the hardest to track, and some existing lists include companies working in gaming without directly developing games themselves. 

IsaKaba's count focuses on active developers, along with a small number of older studios still contributing to the ecosystem.

**Nigeria's growing lead**

Data from [Africacomicade](https://www.isakaba.com/africacomicade/) shows Nigeria's studio count has climbed sharply this year, more than doubling since IsaKaba's earlier tracking. Lagos remains the country's clearest development hub, home to a mix of established names and a wave of newer teams building mobile-first titles. 

Among the studios IsaKaba tracks are [Maliyo Games](https://www.isakaba.com/maliyo-games/), [Kucheza Gaming](https://www.isakaba.com/kucheza-gaming/), and [Deluxe Creation Studios](https://www.isakaba.com/deluxe-creation-studios/), some of the country's more established developers alongside a growing number of newer teams.

Within IsaKaba's own directory, Nigeria's tracked count is currently the highest on the continent, though external estimates suggest South Africa's actual studio base may be larger, a reminder that these figures indicate what's been verified and tracked so far, not a definitive ranking of every market's true size.

**So, how many game studios are there in Nigeria?**

Nearly 40 Nigerian game studios are currently tracked by IsaKaba, though this should be read as a working estimate, not a final count. The number will keep shifting as new studios launch, others go inactive, and IsaKaba identifies teams not yet represented in the directory.
