Egypt Game Jam 2026 returns with ambitions to become a regional hub for Africa and MENA
A platform for aspiring developers, designers, and creatives across the country.
The Interactive Media & Game Development Academy at the Information Technology Institute has announced the return of Egypt Game Jam (EGJ) 2026.
Organised locally by ITI, the event is set to take place from February 7th to February 14th 2026, building on Egypt’s long-running involvement in the global game jam movement.
Between 2011 and 2019, ITI successfully hosted the Global Game Jam, earning two Guinness World Records for the largest number of participants at a single location.
Following the launch of its local format in 2022, Egypt Game Jam has continued to grow as a platform for aspiring developers, designers, and creatives across the country.
Regional ambitions
For 2026, ITI is positioning EGJ as a special local edition with regional ambitions. The academy aims to evolve the event into a hub for Egypt, Africa, and the Arab world.
The initiative is designed to support emerging talent, strengthen the local games ecosystem, and encourage professional collaboration and knowledge exchange at both local and regional levels.
Interested participants can register through the official Egypt Game Jam website.
