FIFAe World Cup 2025 to take place on eFootball in Riyadh

Konami has revealed that the FIFAe World Cup 2025 will be played on eFootball from December 10th 2025 in Riyadh.

Co-hosted with FIFA, the tournament marks the second edition of the competition since eFootball became its official platform.

This year’s event follows a record-breaking qualifier stage, where 90 countries and regions produced 16.51 million participants across console and mobile.

Twelve national teams have advanced to the finals, competing in a 2v2 format for console and a 1v1 format for mobile.

Both divisions will go through group and knockout stages before the finalists battle for the championship title in front of a live audience and worldwide livestream viewers.

Gameplay overhaul

To mark the tournament, Konami has launched a special in-game eFootball campaign running from December 4th to 18th, where players can obtain free items and participate in Squad Challenges.

A major gameplay update has also gone live, adding tactical advice, match analysis tools, new balance adjustments and Link-Up Play features, including a new Ronald Koeman ability.

Moreover, Epic player items such as David Beckham and Jan Koller are now available as part of the update.

This comes after Konami penned a partnership with CAF to bring the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 campaign to eFootball, featuring themed events and appearances from African players and teams.
