Gamr taps Gideon Uwem as web3 program manager
He will focus on shaping a people-first approach to web3 adoption within Africa’s games ecosystem
Nigeria-based games and esports platform Gamr has recruited Gideon Uwem as program manager for web3.
In his new role, Uwem will focus on shaping a people-first approach to web3 adoption within Africa’s games ecosystem.
He is supporting the company’s web3 direction across its platforms and initiatives, with an emphasis on access and sustainability.
Alongside this, Uwem is currently CEO and co-founder of Novatrax Studio, where he leads game and product strategy from concept to release as part of his efforts to position African-developed games for global audiences.
Design leadership
Outside of games, he was head of product design at Flex2RideDapp, leading design strategy and user experience, after working there as a senior product designer.
Across these roles, his work combines game design, UI/UX, product leadership, and web3 program development, with a consistent focus on building culturally grounded products from Africa for global markets.
“Africa’s gaming ecosystem is maturing, and the opportunity now is to build sustainable structures, not just experiments," said Uwem.
“At Gamr, my focus is on helping shape practical Web3 programs that strengthen talent, platforms, and long-term ecosystem growth.”
