Konami Partners with Confederation of African Football to bring AFCON to eFootball

Konami has signed a partnership agreement with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to bring the African Cup of Nations to eFootball.

CAF oversees major tournaments such as the Africa Cup of Nations, which crowns the continent’s top national team and plays a central role in the region’s football development.

To mark the new partnership, Konami will host an Africa Cup Of Nations 25 Campaign in eFootball featuring themed events and appearances from African star players.

New initiative

Both parties believe that Football’s popularity in Africa has surged in recent years, with rising support for both national and club teams.

“This partnership brings new possibilities to the gaming experience, and we are truly excited to deliver the passion of the African region-home to some of the world’s most powerful footballing nations," said Konami senior executive officer Koji Kobayashi.

He added: “Through this initiative, we look forward to adding new African star players and tournament licenses such as TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, further enhancing the realism and excitement of eFootball."

CAF general secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba commented: “The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 will be one of the most exciting and widely followed editions of our flagship competition.

“Our partnership with KONAMI reflects CAF’s commitment to innovation, global fan engagement, and creating new opportunities for African youth in both football and digital spaces.”
