Mad Hook becomes first Arabic studio to release physical PS5 games

Mad Hook Games has made history as the first Arabic studio to release physical PlayStation 5 games in the MENA region.

The Jordan-based developer announced that its titles Amer: Fighting and Highway Drifter are now available as physical discs on the Sony console, marking a major milestone for the studio.

In a post celebrating the achievement, Mad Hook said the release represents a proud moment for its team and for Arab game development as a whole.

“Proud to be the first Jordanian and Arab games studio to release physical copies of our games on PlayStation 5 in the MENA region, a huge milestone for us and for the regional gaming industry," the team wrote.

An expanding universe

Amer: Fighting features relatable characters set in a world inspired by Arab culture and designed to resonate with local players while introducing new audiences to regional storytelling.

In an earlier interview on the making of Amer: Fighting, Mad Hook told IsaKaba that the game forms part of its plan to grow the Amer IP and expand the universe through multiple titles built around the same core world and character.

The studio also confirmed plans to bring the game to PC later this year, with potential releases on additional consoles in the future.

Mad Hook's current focus is on scaling and refining its existing games as it continues to represent the growing ambition of Arab game makers on the global stage.
