Merak Capital appoints Sara Ghazal Hassan as chief operating officer

Saudi-based investment firm Merak Capital has appointed Sara Hassan as its new chief operating officer.
She will oversee firm-wide execution at the company, leading the evolution of its operating model and working closely with the leadership team to support the firm’s next phase of growth.
“I'm joining at an exciting stage for the firm, with a clear mandate to drive execution and evolve the operating model for the next phase," said Hassan.

Track record
Sara Hassan is a senior operations and investment services leader with nearly two decades of experience across global asset managers and financial institutions.
Before joining Merak, she spent about 10 years at BlackRock in London, progressing through multiple leadership roles.
Earlier in her career, she worked at JPMorgan Chase & Co., supporting operations and service delivery for alternative investment solutions. She also brings experience from Deloitte.
