Tamatem launches creator hackathon for aspiring game artists

UAE publisher Tamatem Games has opened applications for its new Content Creator Hackathon to help emerging creative talent break into the games industry.

The studio is calling on video editors, motion designers and animators to produce an Arabic video ad for one of its mobile titles, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills directly to Tamatem’s creative team.

The competition comes with cash prizes of $500, $300 and $200 for the top three entries. Beyond that, all winners will secure a guaranteed three-month stint with Tamatem, either as interns or short-term contractors, depending on experience.

How to participate

Participants will have 72 hours to deliver a polished 30 to 45 second vertical video once the challenge begins.

Creators can apply solo or as a team of two, and all submissions must be produced in Arabic, with a preference for Gulf or Saudi dialects.

AI tools are permitted as long as outputs are culturally accurate and refined enough to avoid an artificial look. Participants can learn more and apply here
