The House of Hikmah explores grief and legacy in new puzzle adventure
The 3D narrative adventure follows Maya, a 14-year-old girl navigating grief after the loss of her father.
Indie developer Lunacy Studios has revealed that narrative puzzle adventure The House of Hikmah will launch on April 8th 2026 for PC.
The 3D narrative adventure follows Maya, a 14-year-old girl navigating grief after the loss of her father. Players explore the mystical House of Wisdom while solving physics-based puzzles using an elemental heirloom left behind by Maya’s father.
Through this artefact, players can manipulate environmental elements, glide through wind channels and reshape objects and structures to progress through the world.
A journey through history
The adventure features nine distinct worlds inspired by scholars of the Islamic Golden Age. Each environment presents both intellectual challenges and personal stories connected to Maya’s journey toward healing.

Along the way, players encounter a cast of historical scholars while confronting a surreal force known as the Widow, which represents unresolved grief.
The game includes fully voice-acted dialogue with a cast that features Sophia Eleni as Maya alongside Nezar Alderazi, Laila Alj, Ben Turner and Talal Karkouti.
Lunacy Studios said the project was developed by a team of industry veterans who have previously worked on major franchises, including Life Is Strange, Star Wars: Battlefront and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.
The House of Hikmah will launch with English and Arabic text and voice localisation. You can pre-register or try the demo on Steam.
