Overview

Andounian Africa Lab is a Beninese creative and cultural industries lab based in Cotonou. Founded in 2019, the organisation works across game development, 2D and 3D animation, digital illustration, VR, AR, XR and gamification.

Its most notable project is Dôkun Miton, a physical card game and digital experience built around 26 royal treasures returned to Benin by France. The project was developed with support from the French Embassy in Benin, with Africa Design School contributing to the design and Epitech Benin providing technical expertise for the application.

The Dôkun Miton application extends the physical game with 3D models of the treasures and augmented reality features, allowing players to explore the objects digitally. The project is designed to make Beninese cultural heritage more accessible through games and interactive technology.

Andounian has continued to promote Dôkun Miton, with the game currently being sold and the organisation describing it as a product made in Benin.
