Overview
Dawn Of Game Studio is an independent game development studio from Cameroon focused on creating hardcore gaming experiences rooted in African culture. Founded in 2018, the studio combines arcade-inspired gameplay with modern mechanics and original African IP. Its team works across game development, art, animation, UI design and programming.
The studio's current flagship project is Kwat Fou, a mobile beat 'em up set in the heart of a Cameroonian neighbourhood. The game blends classic arcade fighting with local slang, humour and characters, and is designed around skill-based combat. It is currently available on Android, with an iOS version planned.
Dawn Of Game has continued building its international profile in 2026. The studio participated in Xbox Game Camp Africa 2026, which its co-founder Gilbert Ewangue described as recognition of the team's consistency and resilience. It has also been selected for Supercell's Game First 2026 in Helsinki, giving the Cameroonian team opportunities for mentorship, networking and industry exposure.
The studio remains focused on Kwat Fou, with expanded solo content and early multiplayer modes planned as it works towards its next stage of development.
