Overview

Digital Realm Entertainment is a Rwandan interactive entertainment and creative technology company founded in 2018. Based in Kigali, the company works across game development, animation, esports, gamification, AR/VR/XR and other interactive technologies, with a focus on creating experiences inspired by African stories and culture.

Its game development arm, Realm Games Studios, describes itself as an internal first-party studio focused on creating games based on African culture, heritage, legends, myths, narratives and history. The studio is currently working on its first IP, codenamed TC1, while raising funding and recruiting talent.

Beyond game development, Digital Realm is building a broader gaming ecosystem. This includes Pixel Realm, a digital asset marketplace for African creators, as well as gaming communities, esports activities and the Game Hub Africa initiative, which aims to help develop Rwanda as a regional hub for games, AR/VR/XR and immersive technology.

The company has also been involved in organising Global Game Jam activities in Rwanda and recently participated in DigiArt Fest 2026 in Kampala, where it ran a Blender-to-Unity workshop and took part in esports and industry discussions.
