Overview
Elder Studios is an independent Ethiopian game studio focused on immersive, narrative-driven games and telling African stories through interactive media. The studio is based in Ethiopia and currently lists a team size of 2-10 employees.
The studio's game Queen Idia is a third-person action-adventure based on Queen Idia, the legendary Queen Mother of the Benin Kingdom. The game combines combat, environmental puzzles and historical storytelling, and was originally developed from a game jam project before being expanded into a full release.
Elder Studios is now developing Veiled, a horror-thriller survival game following an orphaned girl exploring the ruins of a shattered world. The studio describes it as its first game, with a playable demo in preparation, and the project is being incubated through the Habesha Creative Lab at the Alliance Éthio-Française d'Addis Abeba.
