Overview

Enechawet Games is an Ethiopian game development and publishing studio established in 2019 by four young entrepreneurs, including CEO Abiy Hailu, focused on educational and socially impactful experiences. The company builds titles across mobile, VR, and AR, combining local cultural context with interactive learning.

Its debut title, Mamo, follows a young boy sent by his grandmother on a mission to deliver medicine and save a king's daughter. The studio's other titles include Meskel Bird, tied to Ethiopia's UNESCO-recognized Meskel festival, Liku, an educational farming game, and Guzo Geez, a card-based Geez numbers learning tool for iOS and Android. Enechawet also built Ethiopia's first VR game, Tsedew Eregna, and Seenaa Fardaa, a horse-riding game that won the first Visit Oromia Hackathon in 2022.

The studio's current flagship, Yefidelat Ashenafi, is a multilingual alphabet-learning game backed by the Mastercard Foundation, built to directly address Ethiopia's documented primary-school literacy gap.
