Overview

Fred Da Dead Productions, also known as Fred Da Dead, is an independent video game development studio based in Bahrain. Founded in 2020 by four gamers, the studio focuses on creating narrative-driven and surreal interactive experiences across games, design and entertainment.

The studio is currently developing Catatonic, a narrative adventure game following Katrina, a domestic cat mysteriously transported to New Marilyn City. Transformed into an anthropomorphic version of herself, Katrina must uncover the city's secrets while navigating strange environments, solving puzzles and confronting bosses.

According to the studio, Catatonic combines exploration, puzzle-solving and narrative elements, with players encountering characters including the mysterious Mobb Paw and Dr. Schwein. The game is currently being promoted through a Steam wishlist and has also received backing through a Kickstarter campaign.

Fred Da Dead Productions has also publicly credited a large group of backers who supported the project, suggesting the studio has used crowdfunding as part of its development journey.
