Overview
FunRock is a Stockholm-based mobile games studio with an established development presence in Alexandria, Egypt. Originally founded in 2008, the studio merged with Prey Studios in 2021 and operated under the FunRock & Prey Studios name before returning to the FunRock brand in 2025. It is wholly owned by Swedish gaming group Fragbite Group.
The studio develops and publishes proprietary mobile games and game engines, with a focus on free-to-play experiences. Its portfolio includes MMA Manager, MMA Manager 2: Ultimate Fight and Capital War, alongside work-for-hire and white-label projects built using its existing game technology.
FunRock established its Alexandria office in 2017 as its first MENA office, initially with a focus on creating mobile strategy games specifically for the region. The studio's MENA-focused portfolio has included Capital War and Etihad Al Abtal, an Arabic strategy game developed around regional audiences.
In 2025, FunRock said it had returned to profitability and was expanding its proprietary games business while developing a new IP. Its work-for-hire operation has also become an important source of revenue, including white-label games developed for a European iGaming operator.
