Overview

Green Quest Innovations is a Lagos-based studio founded by Grace Ojonugwa James, an engineering graduate of Covenant University and Purdue University, building games that turn climate anxiety into real-world environmental action.

The company operates as a hybrid for-profit and nonprofit, driven by research showing 66% of Nigerian youth experience climate anxiety, against a backdrop of Nigeria losing an estimated 351,000 hectares of forest annually.

Its flagship product, Green Quest, is an interactive mobile game combining storytelling, GameFi mechanics, and real-world impact tracking to educate and empower African youth on climate action. Gameplay centers on Action Zones, a futuristic simulated world set in 2030, where players take on climate-focused missions.

The studio has partnered with the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to build a dedicated Action Zone level. James presented the project at the Falling Walls Science Summit in Germany and has submitted it to MIT Solve's Global Learning Challenge.
