Overview

HYPER-ForJ Games is an independent South African game studio focused primarily on mobile games, with additional PC projects and growing capabilities in 3D modelling. The Johannesburg-based studio was founded in 2025 and describes itself as working towards becoming a leading South African mobile games studio.

The studio has already built a diverse portfolio of small-scale games, including Jongwe: Get Yolked!, an action game in which players help a chicken protect its eggs, and Azania: Swipe Legends, an Android action game.

Its projects also include Ukudla Kwethu, a farming and city-building prototype centred on heritage crops, local recipes and food security, and Mzansi Mayhem, a PC card game.

HYPER-ForJ was also part of the Games Week Geeks cohort at Africa Games Week 2025, alongside several other emerging Johannesburg studios. The programme highlighted the studio's growing portfolio, culturally focused games and expanding 3D modelling services.
