Lagos Games Week 2026 set for June return at the National Theatre

Kucheza Gaming CEO and founder Bukola Akingbade has revealed that Lagos Games Week 2026 will take place from June 18th to 19th at the National Theatre in Lagos.

Organised in partnership with the Embassy of France in Nigeria, the two-day event will once again convene developers, publishers, educators, and policymakers to advance collaboration and visibility across the regional games ecosystem.

Over the past two years, the gathering has evolved from a local community meetup into a recognised platform for showcasing African talent and connecting stakeholders across the continent.

Industry participation

This year’s programme introduces several returning and expanded initiatives. The Pitch Stage will allow developers to present playable prototypes to an expert jury, while the Indie Games Showcase will provide selected studios with free exhibition space to present their projects to industry peers and the public.

Moreover, the event will also host a Pan-African Game Jam in partnership with the Global Game Jam network, alongside the Next Gen Summit delivered with Games for Change Africa, which aims to introduce secondary school students to career opportunities within the games industry.

Government and industry leaders are expected to attend, alongside representatives from international and regional organisations such as Focus Entertainment, Ocean View Entertainment, Xbox, Maliyo Games, Gamr, Cade Esports, and Africacomicade.
