Background

Mohammed Habbab spent over 15 years at Microsoft, where he built and led the company's games business across the Middle East and Africa before expanding his remit to Central and Eastern Europe. He launched Xbox's first console in Saudi Arabia, introduced the region's earliest esports competitions, and oversaw the full P&L for gaming sales across MEA.

He left Microsoft in 2024 to found Level Up Consultancy, advising investors, startups, and multinational firms on market entry, scaling, and monetisation across gaming and technology. In late 2025, he launched Level Up Gaming, a Saudi-based games publisher with a global focus.

Current Focus

Habbab is building Level Up Gaming's publishing slate, with an emphasis on partnering with independent studios to support development, go-to-market execution, and launch readiness. The studio operates with a lean core team and a distributed network of specialists across production, QA, marketing, and community. His stated priority is quality over volume, targeting globally competitive releases on PC and other international platforms.

Industry Position

Habbab has advised Merak Capital and worked with the Excel gaming accelerator, giving him visibility across both the investment and operator sides of the MENA ecosystem. His Microsoft tenure included direct publisher relationships with Ubisoft, Bethesda, and EA, and involvement in Game Pass expansion across high-growth markets. He holds a Business Administration degree from the American University of Sharjah.
