Overview

Ngami Game Studios is an independent game development studio based in Maun, Botswana, founded by game developer Tumisang Molaletsi. The studio focuses on creating games inspired by African traditions, folklore and history, with an emphasis on bringing Tswana culture and other African stories to global audiences.

The studio has developed Setso Simulator, an interactive experience designed around Tswana culture, traditional practices, language, music and art. Ngami has also released Mhele, a digital adaptation of a traditional Tswana game, on the web.

More recently, Ngami participated in the Pan-African Game Jam 2026, submitting Mfecane, a 3D strategy game inspired by the historical Mfecane period and focused on the survival of a nation. The game was released through the studio's itch.io page.

Ngami also develops game development tools, including LiveWire: 3D Electric Grid Builder, a Unity asset designed for strategy, city-building and survival games.
