Overview

Northend Games is an independent Iraqi game development studio based in Baghdad. The studio was opened in 2022 with three members after developing its first project, Northend Tower Defense, from an early prototype created in 2021.

Northend Tower Defense entered Steam Early Access in 2022 before receiving its full release in 2024. The real-time strategy and tower defense game combines troop deployment, upgrades and battlefield abilities with multiple combat environments and a zombie mode.

The studio began work on its second project, Deepstone Rift, in 2025. The tower defense game is set in underground mines, where players build and upgrade towers while defending their base from goblins. It entered Steam Early Access in Q4 2025 and remains in development.
