Overview

OGames Studio is a Ghanaian game development studio based in Kumasi, focused on creating games inspired by African culture, folklore and legends. The studio also works with virtual reality and educational technology, developing interactive learning tools designed to make science more accessible to students.

Its game portfolio includes Alien-X, Fallen Souls: Abyssal Descent and Corona Dodge, while its upcoming projects include Rise of Fati, an adventure game inspired by African folklore, and educational titles SimuLab and Science Safari with Dr. Ama.

SimuLab uses interactive simulations, games, animated lessons and VR experiments to teach science, with the studio specifically targeting schools that lack access to physical laboratories.

OGames was selected for the 2024 UNICEF Startup Lab, where it worked on its educational projects, and later won a $25,000 grant at African Skills Week for SimuLab and Science Safari with Dr. Ama.

The studio also runs industry and education initiatives, including Game Dev Nexus, which connects tertiary students with game developers and provides internship opportunities.
