Overview

Teranga Game Studio is a Senegalese game development and publishing company based in Dakar. Founded in 2023, the studio focuses on games that draw on African culture and local heritage, with an emphasis on educational and story-driven experiences.

Its main released project is Teranga Quest, an educational quiz game that takes players on a journey through Senegal. The game currently begins in Rufisque and uses questions covering areas including history, culture, sport, economy, and environment and health. It is available to play in a web browser and is currently in French.

The studio has plans to expand Teranga Quest beyond Rufisque, with Dakar, Pikine, Guédiawaye and Keur Massar identified as additional locations. The project was developed using Godot 4.3, with Alpha Ousmane Diallo handling development and Abdoulaye Bamar Diop working as game designer and 2D artist.

Teranga Game Studio has also been active in Senegal's wider gaming and education ecosystem, participating in events including E-FEST Africa and FORCE-N activities. It was also selected for the GameSkills 2026 programme alongside studios from across Europe and Africa.
