Overview
Xelabyte Studios is a Nigerian game development studio founded by Xela Oladipupo in May 2026. The studio focuses on building original games for players rather than developing products for clients.
Its first announced game, MerjUp, is a mobile arcade puzzle game that combines physics-based can launching with merge mechanics. Players aim and toss cans into a play area, where matching cans collide and merge into higher tiers. The game also features different modes, progression systems and leaderboards.
Xelabyte aims to build original gaming IP from Nigeria for local and international audiences. The studio plans to test user acquisition in Nigeria and overseas markets, including countries with larger mobile gaming and advertising economies.
