Overview

Xiden Games is an independent game studio based in Abuja, Nigeria. The studio makes action games rooted in West African mythology, focusing on stories that are familiar to the cultures they draw from but have rarely been represented in games.

The studio was founded by Samuel Adoga, who designed, built and directed its first game, Sango: The Thunder God. The game was rebuilt in Godot 4 from an earlier 2018 prototype, with development taking place over nine months of evenings and weekends.

Xiden Games also publishes what it learns during development, including courses covering how Sango was made. The studio is currently focused on supporting Sango on Android and Windows while working on a second title set in the same world.
