Lagos Run
A browser-based driving game that puts players behind the wheel of a Lagos danfo. Players navigate the city's roads, pick up passengers and deal with the traffic and challenges of everyday Lagos transport.
The game was developed as a spare-time project by independent developer Eureka and attracted more than 7,000 players within two days of launch and over 85,000 in its first week.
Developer: Opeyemi Adeniran
Country: Nigeria/Germany
Genre: Driving, Simulation
Platform: Web

Why it matters: Lagos Run turns one of the most recognisable parts of everyday Lagos life into a simple, accessible game that can be played directly in a web browser. It also joins a longer history of Nigerian games using danfos as a central part of their worlds, including ChopUp's Danfo, Maliyo's Danfo Racer and LightXud Studio's Danfo Saga.
