Maliyo Games opens Junior Internship 2026 applications

Safari City developer Maliyo Games has opened applications for its Junior Internship 2026, a two-week, hands-on programme giving young creators aged 10 to 14 a first look inside a working game studio.

The internship runs from 20th to 31st July 2026 at Maliyo Games Studio in Lagos, with the application deadline set for 30th June 2026.

Participants will work alongside peers to develop their own game ideas, designing and building a playable prototype while learning how games are made from the ground up.

What the programme covers

Maliyo Games describes the experience as a chance to "work in a game studio" and see firsthand how a game-making team operates. The studio has also laid out a five-stage roadmap for applicants.

Registration runs from 10th to 30th June, followed by screening from 1st to 5th July and interviews from 6th to 10th July. Selected applicants will be notified during the confirmation stage, from 13th to 15th July, ahead of the internship's start on 20th July.

Children who do not live in Lagos are eligible to apply, provided they can be present in Lagos for the full two weeks if selected. Parents may register more than one child, though each application is reviewed separately.
