Robi Interactive and Weza Interactive Entertainment partner on coding education in Nairobi

Kenyan game studios Robi Interactive and Weza Interactive Entertainment have formed a partnership focused on coding education, with the two studios opting to build a shared talent pipeline before moving toward commercial co-development.

The collaboration follows a connection made between Robi Interactive founder and creative director Wemma Odimmasi and the Weza Interactive team at a Futuregames Meet & Greet event in Nairobi.

Rather than launching directly into a joint commercial product, both studios are using the educational programme as a foundation, with the aim of discovering local development talent, generating a sustainable revenue stream to fund internal creative work, and building the technical groundwork for future co-developed titles.

Building toward co-development

Weza Interactive Entertainment is a Nairobi-based studio with a focus on African-led game development. Robi Interactive, also based in Nairobi, is led by Odimmasi, who is currently studying Informatics and Computer Science at Strathmore University.

The partnership adds to a growing number of studio collaborations emerging from Kenya's games development scene, with Nairobi increasingly serving as a connection point for East African developers.
