Ash Games Studio reveals first trailer for Nomad: The Legend of Zarqa
A top-down action roguelite rooted in ancient Arabian legend
Saudi-based Ash Games Studio has revealed the first trailer for Nomad: The Legend of Zarqa, a top-down action roguelite drawn from ancient Arabian folklore.
Players take on the role of Zarqa al-Yamama, the legendary seer whose vision could reach beyond the horizon. That same power extends to her arrows, which players steer mid-flight to thread shots through enemies, terrain, and otherwise impossible angles.
The studio said the world surrounding her is built from stories most of the team grew up hearing but never got to play.
“We're building games that celebrate Arabic culture, carried by an international team of 20 who've put years of their lives into this and leadership that's backed every hard call we've made,” Ash Games Studio said in a post.
Backed by Saudi partners
Nomad is being developed by an international team of 20, with backing from NEOM, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Monsha'at, and the Human Resources Development Fund.
The upcoming title follows Azooma Escape, the studio's debut title and one of the first Arabic indie games to land on Steam's global front page.
Ash Games Studio CEO and co-founder Anas Bakhsh previously told IsaKaba that the team's long-term vision is to create culturally rich, story-driven games with global appeal, bringing authentic regional stories to a worldwide audience.
Ash Games Studio is listed in the IsaKaba Studios Directory.
