ESL FACEIT Group appoints Yousef Hassan as senior director of global brand partnerships

ESL FACEIT Group has appointed Yousef Hassan as senior director of global brand partnerships, marking his move into the esports industry after more than five years with World Rugby.

Hassan took to LinkedIn to announce the appointment, saying he was excited to join the ESL FACEIT Group team after more than five years at World Rugby, where he most recently served as head of commercial from May 2025 to August 2026.

In his new role, Hassan will focus on global brand partnerships at ESL FACEIT Group as the company continues to work with brands across its esports and gaming portfolio.

From rugby to esports

He previously spent more than three years as brand partnerships manager at World Rugby, following a period as global partnerships executive.

His earlier experience includes more than two years at Octagon, where he held account executive and senior account executive positions, working with partners including Expedia Group, Mastercard and Shell.

Hassan has also served as a D&I Ambassador focused on sports, marketing and communications with NoTurningBack2020.
