Esports Foundation appoints Audrey Cech as director of competitive governance and integrity
She brings more than a decade of sports governance experience from Riot Games, UEFA, FIFA and more
The Esports Foundation has appointed Audrey Cech as director of competitive governance and integrity, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In her new role, she will support the EWC and ENC in strengthening essential values of fairness, trust, transparency and excellence. Cech said much of her career had been built behind the scenes, shaping the systems that allow players and fans to focus on the product itself.
"I have built much of my career behind the scenes, building the teams, programs, and systems that help create the conditions for others to perform at their best and for fans to simply enjoy the product," said Cech.
A decade across sports governance
Cech joins from Riot Games, where she spent four years as global head of rules and compliance for esports, overseeing regulatory, disciplinary, integrity and governance matters across the publisher's competitive titles.
Before Riot, she served as legal counsel at UEFA in Nyon, providing legal and administrative support to the body's organs for the administration of justice.
Moreover, she spent five years at FIFA in roles spanning anti-doping management and litigation, where she represented the federation as lead counsel before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Her appointment lands as the Esports Foundation builds out the governance backbone for the inaugural Esports Nations Cup, which runs from November 2nd to 29th in Riyadh.
