PIF appoints Rachel Hitchins as senior vice president
Her appointment comes as the sovereign wealth fund continues to expand its global investment activities
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has appointed Rachel Hitchins as senior vice president, bringing the investment professional back to Riyadh after more than two years working in London.
Hitchins took to LinkedIn to share the appointment, which comes as the sovereign wealth fund continues to expand its global investment activities, including a growing focus on gaming and entertainment.
The move also follows the PIF's completion of its acquisition of Electronic Arts alongside Silver Lake and Affinity Partners. The approximately $55 billion transaction closed on August 4th, taking EA private and marking one of the largest leveraged buyouts in history.
Investment experience
She joins PIF from A&O Shearman, where she spent more than nine years, progressing from associate to senior associate.
During her time at the firm, she worked on cross-border capital market transactions exceeding $60bn across sectors including oil and gas, commodities, real estate, biomedical and financial services.
She initially joined Allen & Overy in 2017 before the firm's merger with Shearman & Sterling created A&O Shearman.
Hitchins is now based in Riyadh and joins PIF's senior leadership as the fund continues to build its portfolio across strategic sectors.
