Exel by Merak promotes Faisal Alsharari to assistant manager
He simultaneously holds an assistant manager role at Merak Capital, Exel's parent entity
Riyadh-based gaming accelerator Exel by Merak has promoted Faisal Alsharari to assistant manager.
Alsharari has been with Exel since it began scaling its accelerator operations, supporting the delivery of startup accelerator programs from planning to execution. He simultaneously holds an assistant manager role at Merak Capital, Exel's parent entity.
"I'm grateful for it," said Alsharari in a post. "When I started, I took on a lot that was new to me, and Exel gave me the space to learn it, own it, and step into bigger responsibilities. That kind of environment, where you're trusted with real work and supported while you grow, is RARE."
Before joining Exel, Alsharari accumulated experience across Unity XR development, cybersecurity operations, and metaverse instruction, building a cross-disciplinary background in immersive technology before moving into accelerator programme management.
Continous growth
Exel by Merak was born out of Merak Capital's $80 million gaming fund in 2024 to support local and international game developers in the Kingdom.
Its first cohort saw $5.1m invested across 17 startups, each receiving $300,000 in equity funding. The accelerator has since become the first gaming-focused programme to join the Riyadh Creative District.
