The event will bring together people working across Africa’s games industry.
Nigeria-based developer Maliyo Games has revealed plans to host the second edition of MaliyoCON in Lagos, Nigeria on December 10th, with a focus on Africa’s growing games industry.
Maliyo founder and CEO Hugo Obi announced the event, inviting developers, industry professionals and potential sponsors to take part in the conference. Further details on speakers and the programme are expected to be announced ahead of the event.
The first MaliyoCON brought together developers, founders and other games industry figures in Lagos, with Supercell also announcing plans for a new grants programme for African game developers during the event.
Building the ecosystem
MaliyoCON 2026 will provide another gathering point for people working across Africa’s games ecosystem, with Obi describing it as an opportunity to experience the market firsthand, meet the people building it and contribute to its continued growth.
The announcement comes as Maliyo continues to expand its wider industry initiatives, including GameUp Africa, now GameUp Academy, which supports game development talent across the globe.
