Ghanaian studio Organized Khaos wins Unity for Humanity 2026 grant

Ghanaian studio Organized Khaos has been named among the recipients of the 2026 Unity for Humanity Grant programme, with its StoriWeave platform recognised alongside 10 winning projects and two other honourable mentions drawn from eight countries.

StoriWeave is a physical-digital learning platform built specifically for African children, with its debut title, Kuukua's Science Adventures: Harnessing the Power of the Sun, aimed at kids aged 6 to 13.

The product combines an interactive branching story with a physical deck of cards that triggers 3D animations when scanned through a free Unity-powered AR app, turning any tabletop into a working solar farm. A companion science kit lets children physically build their own solar-powered fan.

Free access at the core

Unity said it selected the project in part because the StoriWeave app remains completely free, allowing children without access to the AR cards to still engage with the interactive stories.

The 2026 grant programme drew more than 515 applications, a second consecutive year of record submissions, with Unity allocating a combined $600,000 prize pool from its Charitable Fund.

Recipients can apply funding toward development, prototyping, or marketing and distribution. The programme is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

This story was updated on May 15th 2026 to clarify StoriWeave's status as an honourable mention rather than a top 10 winner.
