Greedy demo is now available on Steam ahead of November launch
Players control goofy raccoons tasked with infiltrating procedurally generated ancient ruins
Saudi-based developer Blame the Game has released a demo of its co-op title Greedy on Steam, giving players an early look at the upcoming roguelike ahead of its planned November 6th launch.
Greedy puts players in control of goofy raccoons tasked with infiltrating procedurally generated ancient ruins and extracting magical relics for the moles running the excavation.
The game centres on four-player cooperation, but players must balance teamwork with their own desire for more loot.
Risk and reward
The relic reward is shared across the team, while additional items increase each player's individual progress at the cost of making their raccoon slower and noisier.
Loot can be converted into coins and spent on items and upgrades, with players also able to gamble at the moles' roulette or take one of Mammon's roguelike deals.
Getting the relic is only part of each run. Players must escape the ruins under pressure before deciding whether to cash out their rewards or risk everything by continuing to another floor.
The ruins are controlled by Mammon, the Greed Demon, whose curses become more severe when crews steal too much. Runs feature changing layouts, traps, monsters and puzzles, alongside bosses, challenges and NPCs that can eventually settle in the forest.
Greedy is scheduled to launch on November 6th. You can play the demo on Steam.
