eMedia Interactive brings CloserLook VR: Oldways to Steam
The Steam release builds on the existing Quest version with upgraded visual presentation
Abuja-based independent developer eMedia Interactive has released CloserLook VR: Oldways on Steam, bringing its narrative VR puzzle adventure to PC VR players following its earlier launch on Meta Quest.
The game is set in modern-day West Africa and follows Tessy, a final-year microbiology student who wakes up trapped inside a university administrative building.
Players must solve puzzles and explore the environment while uncovering a wider conspiracy involving exploitation, corruption, stolen artefacts and a mysterious organisation.
Enhanced visuals
The Steam release builds on the existing Quest version with upgraded visual presentation. eMedia Interactive says the PC VR version features higher-resolution textures, enhanced visual fidelity and richer environments and details, creating a sharper and more immersive experience.
The game supports SteamVR and OpenXR and is designed exclusively for virtual reality. The Steam version also retains the game's focus on story-driven exploration and environmental puzzles.
CloserLook VR: Oldways previously launched its demo on Steam in May 2025, while the full Quest release followed in June 2026. The developer had initially planned to bring the SteamVR version to PC players later in the year.
With the Steam release now live, CloserLook VR: Oldways gives eMedia Interactive another platform through which to showcase its West African setting and Nigerian-developed VR experience.
