Merak Capital promotes Ghadi AlGhamdi to senior investment associate
Promotion comes after nearly two years with the firm
Saudi investment firm Merak Capital has promoted Ghadi AlGhamdi to senior investment associate for capital formation, advancing her from investment associate after nearly two years with the company.
AlGhamdi joined Merak Capital in 2024 and has supported the firm's capital formation activities as it expanded its technology-focused investment portfolio.
Before joining Merak Capital, she spent over two years at Albilad Capital, where she progressed from private equity and investment banking analyst to senior analyst. During her time there, she worked on IPOs, capital-raising initiatives, financial modelling and transaction execution across private equity and investment banking.
Alongside her investment career, AlGhamdi also served as a producer for the Swalif Business Podcast at Thmanyah, contributing to business-focused content while building her experience in the Saudi investment ecosystem.
Continous support
Merak Capital manages an $80 million Gaming Fund backed by the National Development Fund and the Social Development Bank, with investments deployed through Exel by Merak to support game developers and startups in Saudi Arabia.
The fund launched in November 2024 as part of the firm's efforts to strengthen the Kingdom's games industry under Vision 2030, backing studios and gaming ventures through its accelerator and investment programmes.
Exel by Merak has since graduated two cohorts of gaming startups, with its third cohort currently underway as the accelerator continues supporting early-stage developers looking to scale their businesses.
