MerjUp is a new physics-based puzzle game from Nigerian studio Xelabyte
An arcade can-merging puzzle game...
Nigerian game studio Xelabyte Studios has launched MerjUp, a mobile puzzle game that combines physics-based can launching with merge mechanics.
Founded in 2026 by Xela Oladipupo, the studio is focused on building original games for consumers rather than developing products for clients.
Available for free on Android and iOS, MerjUp challenges players to toss cans into a play area, where matching cans collide and merge into higher tiers. Players must manage their aim, positioning and chain reactions while trying to improve their scores.
Building IP
MerjUp has three modes: Puzzle with 100 campaign levels, Classic with timed score challenges, and Survival where players race against the stack. Daily challenges and rewards encourage regular play.
Oladipupo said the game builds on ideas already explored by titles such as Suika Game, rather than claiming to invent a new genre. MerjUp also includes different modes, progression systems and leaderboards designed to keep players competing and improving.
Oladipupo said the studio wants to prove that games built in Nigeria can compete for players around the world. Xelabyte plans to test user acquisition in Nigeria and international markets, including countries with larger mobile gaming and advertising economies.
