Starvania’s Bahamut and the Waqwaq Tree gets physical PS5 and Switch release

Saudi Arabia-based developer Starvania Studio has revealed that a physical release for Bahamut and the Waqwaq Tree is coming on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, marking another milestone for the studio and Saudi game development.

The physical edition is now available in Asia, with the game set to launch in Japan on October 22nd and the US on October 29th. The release is being handled in partnership with publisher Soft Source.

Bahamut and the Waqwaq Tree is inspired by Arabian mythology and follows Noor as she explores the game's underwater world. Starvania previously spoke to IsaKaba about the game's development, including how the team drew inspiration from titles such as Rayman and Ecco the Dolphin while building an experience rooted in Arabian mythology.

Another regional step

The physical release comes after Jordanian studio Mad Hook Games announced last year that it had become the first Arabic studio to release physical PlayStation 5 games in the MENA region, with Amer: Fighting and Highway Drifter receiving physical editions.

Starvania's release takes that broader momentum into international retail, with Bahamut and the Waqwaq Tree reaching physical shelves across Asia, followed by Japan and the US.

Starvania is listed in the IsaKaba Studios Directory.
