Tamatem Games has teamed up with ZINC Jordan and Replit to co-sponsor the Prompt & Play Hackathon taking place from May 14th to 16th.

The three-day hackathon is designed to bring together creators, developers, and gamers to build games collaboratively under competition conditions.

Registration closes on May 11th, with participants able to sign up via the official website. The hackathon will take place at ZINC's King Hussein Business Park in Amman.

A prize pool worth 3,000 JOD ($4,230) is on offer across three placements, with 1,500 JOD ($2,115) going to first place, 1,000 JOD ($1,410) to second, and 500 JOD ($700) to third.

Developer support

The event adds to a growing calendar of game development competitions in Jordan, a market where Tamatem has long been one of the most active publishers targeting Arabic-speaking audiences.

The Amman-based studio has built its model around localising and publishing mobile games for the MENA region, and its recent acquisition of Playable Factory is aimed at bolstering its efforts.
