The Lonely Architect is an upcoming platformer from Nigerian developer Odaro Eguavoen

Nigerian architect and solo game developer Odaro Eguavoen is developing The Lonely Architect, a 2D atmospheric platformer exploring isolation, overwork and the subconscious through architectural imagery.
Developed under Ekosodi Games, the upcoming platformer follows an overworked architect who falls asleep after another day at work and enters his subconscious, where architecture begins to chip away at his sense of identity.
The game's visual style draws from traditional pen drawings used by 20th-century architects, transforming boxes, arches and other architectural forms into platforms and obstacles.
Statues depicting the protagonist also become part of the environment, reinforcing the connection between his profession and identity.
Inside the mind
The Lonely Architect features two modes. Build Mode allows players to create architectural structures and illustrations using blocks in a grid-based world, while Story Mode presents the narrative through platform puzzles spread across four acts: Emptiness, Heaviness, Who Am I? and Where is Home?

The project began as a demo that became a Top 25 finalist in the Safe In Our World 2024 Game Jam. It was also showcased at Lagos Games Week 2026.
The Lonely Architect is currently in Early Access on itch.io, with a planned Steam and Xbox release later in 2026.
