The Sims-inspired Lagos Life game crosses 100,000 users
The project began with an idea inspired by The Sims 3
Lagos Life has crossed 100,000 users, with more than 11,000 people online at the same time playing, chatting, meeting and interacting in the virtual city.
The milestone was shared by creator Shalom Rayhamen, who said the project began with an idea inspired by The Sims 3 and the possibility of creating a life simulation set in a world inspired by Nigeria.
Rayhamen said seeing independent developer Eureka's Lagos Run, a browser game where players drive a danfo through Lagos, helped spark the idea for Lagos Life.
Building a Lagos world
Lagos Life is designed as a social virtual world where users can create their own experiences and interact with other players. A dashboard shared alongside the milestone showed more than 104,000 players and 11,116 people playing at the time of the post.
The platform has also recorded more than 322,000 visits and 589,000 all-time visits, according to the dashboard shared by Rayhamen.

The growth of Lagos Life is interesting because it shows that perhaps there is a larger audience for games that can be accessed instantly through a browser, without a download or expensive hardware.

Lagos Run reached more than 85,000 players in its first week, while Lagos Life has now passed 100,000 users. Neither requires players to own a console or wait for a large download, potentially making them easier entry points for audiences that may not engage with traditional PC and console games.
Rayhamen said the platform is "just getting started" as its user base continues to grow. You can access Lagos Life here.
