Qwacks partners with Symmetric Studio to power Valley of Fog development
Two Merak-backed Saudi startups link up as Qwacks plugs its development and live ops stack into Symmetric Studio's pipeline
Saudi gaming startup Qwacks has revealed a collaboration with Symmetric Studio to provide the studio with its game development tools, systems and live operations services to support its debut title.
Symmetric Studio is currently developing Valley of Fog, a hybrid-casual mobile game that blends dungeon crawling with city building, featuring an Arabian leopard treasure hunter named Leo.
Qwacks, on the other hand, is working to improve its platform and integrations, scale its technology stack and reach more studios across Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
The startup has said it aims to amp up operational capacity amid growing demand for locally developed gaming technology.
Two Exel alumni team up
Both companies emerged from Merak Capital's orbit. Symmetric Studio secured $300,000 in 2025 as part of Exel by Merak's $300,000 investment across 17 Saudi gaming startups, while Qwacks raised $480,000 in pre-seed funding in the same year, with Merak Capital leading the round.
Qwacks operates a unified technology layer for game development, spanning three core products: Flock, a backend service for online and multiplayer games; Protokite, an AI-supported playtesting system; and DataDuck, a market intelligence tool.
The partnership marks one of Qwacks' first publicly disclosed client deals since its December raise.
